Our Doctrinal StatementWe affirm our belief in one God, infinite Spirit, creator, and sustainer of all things, who exists eternally in three persons, God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit. These three are one in essence but distinct in person and function. We affirm that the Father is the first person of the Trinity and the source of all that God is and does. From Him the Son is eternally generated and from Them the Spirit eternally proceeds. He is the designer of creation, the speaker of revelation, the author of redemption, and the sovereign of history. We affirm that the Lord Jesus Christ is the second person of the Trinity. Eternally begotten from the Father, He is God. He was conceived by the virgin Mary through a miracle of the Holy Spirit. He lives forever as perfect God and perfect man: two distinct natures inseparably united in one person. We affirm that the Holy Spirit is the third person of the Trinity, proceeding from the Father and Son and equal in deity. He is the giver of all life, active in the creating and ordering of the universe: He is the agent of inspiration and the new birth; He restrains sin and Satan; and He indwells and sanctifies all believers. We affirm that all things were created by God. Angels were created as ministering agents, though some, under the leadership of Satan, fell from their sinless state to become agents of evil. The universe was created in six historical days and is continuously sustained by God; thus it both reflects His glory and reveals His truth. Human beings were directly created, not evolved, in the very image of God. As reasoning moral agents, they are responsible under God for understanding and governing themselves and the world. We affirm that the Bible, both Old and New Testaments, though written by men, was supernaturally inspired by God so that all its words are the written true revelation of God, it is therefore inerrant in the originals and authoritative in all matters. It is to be understood by all through the illumination of the Holy Spirit, its meaning determined by the historical, grammatical, and literary use of the author’s language, comparing Scripture with Scripture. We affirm that Adam, the first man, willfully disobeyed God, bringing sin and death into the world. As a result, all persons are sinners from conception, which is evidenced in their willful acts of sin; and they are therefore subject to eternal punishment, under the just condemnation of a holy God.We affirm that Jesus Christ offered Himself as a sacrifice by the appointment of the Father. He fulfilled the demands of God by His obedient life, died on the cross in full substitution and payment for the sins of all, was buried, and on the third day He arose physically and bodily from the dead. He ascended into heaven where He now intercedes for all believers. We affirm that each person can be saved only through the work of Jesus Christ, through repentance of sin and by faith alone in Him as Savior. The believer is declared righteous, born again by the Holy Spirit, turned from sin, and assured of heaven. We affirm that the Holy Spirit indwells all who are born again, conforming them to the likeness of Jesus Christ. This is a process completed only in Heaven. Every believer is responsible to live in obedience to the Word of God in separation from sin.We affirm that a church is a local assembly of baptized believers, under the discipline of the Word of God and the lordship of Christ, organized to carry out the commission to evangelize, to teach, and to administer the ordinances of believer’s baptism and the Lord’s table. Its offices are pastors and deacons, and it is self-governing. It functions through the ministry of gifts given by the Holy Spirit to each believerWe affirm that the return of Christ for all believers is imminent. It will be followed by seven years of great tribulation, and then the coming of Christ to establish His earthly kingdom for a thousand years. The unsaved will then be raised and judged according to their works and separated forever from God in hell. The saved, having been raised, will live forever in heaven in fellowship with God.

What Is Your Role In Worship? We believe that everyone in the church should be involved in worship. So, whether your interest lies in the choir, the band drama, visual arts, the praise team, or just singing to Jesus with all your heart from the congregation, worship is for you!Jesus seeks out those who worship in spirit and in truth. We believe if worship becomes a lifestyle and not just something we do on church then we will become the kind of children God wants. In addition to the regular weekly services, the worship department is also responsible for the special Easter Services held at MHBC, the annual Worship Celebration Concert, and, of course, our special Christmas Celebration.Dozens of people are involved in the worship ministry at MHBC and there is always room for more. For More Information Contact Worship Pastor - Josh Andersworship@mymhbc.com

What is the Deal With Tithing? What is a tithe and how is it different from an offering? The word, "tithe" literally means tenth or 10%. A tithe is the first 10% of your income. An offering is anything you give above and beyond the 10%.Why do we tithe? The Bible says, The purpose of tithing is to teach you always to put God first in your lives. (Deuteronomy 14:23 TLB) Tithing is a reminder that God is the supplier of everything we have. It is also God"s personal invitation to an outpouring of his blessing in your life.In Malachi 3:10 (NLT), God says this: "Bring the whole tithe into the storehouse, that there may be food in my house. Test me in this," says the LORD Almighty, "and see if I will not throw open the floodgates of heaven and pour out so much blessing that there will not be room enough to store it." This is the only place in Scripture where God tells us to put him to the test. In other words, he"s saying, "Go ahead. I dare you. See if you can out-give me."Is God wise? Do you trust him? These are two fundamental questions behind the act of giving. If God is wise, then you should listen to what he says about financial stewardship. If you trust him, then you should trust him with all aspects of your life, including your finances. So go ahead. Accept God"s invitation to put him to the test. Start tithing faithfully and watch what he does in and through your life.Mount Harmony soon will be offering a more convenient way to stay faithful in giving your tithe by offering Online Giving. Many churches are beginning to offer this service and have found that those who use the service enjoy the convience of always knowing that they are consistently supporting the church and their promise to God to be faithful in their giving.Ready to Give Online? -- Click HereIf you have questions please view our Online Giving FAQ"s to the right

WorshipThe church exists to worship God. How do we love God with all our heart? By worshiping him! It doesn't matter if we're by ourselves, with a small group, or with 100,000 people. When we express our love to God, we're worshiping. The Bible says, "Worship the Lord your God, and serve him only" (Matt. 4:10). Notice that worship comes before service. Worshiping God is the church's first purpose. ServiceThe church exists to serve people. Service, or ministry, is demonstrating God's love to others by meeting their needs and healing their hurts in the name of Jesus. Each time you reach out in love to others you are serving them. The church is to minister to all kinds of needs: spiritual, emotional, relational, and physical. Jesus said that even a cup of cold water would not go unrewarded. The church is to "...equip the saints for the work of service" (Eph. 4:12). OutreachThe church exists to communicate God's Word. We are ambassadors for Christ, and our mission is to evangelize the world. The word go in the Great Commission is a present participle in the Greek text. It should read "as you are going." It is every Christian's responsibility to share the Good News wherever we go. We are to tell the whole world of Christ's coming, his death on the cross, his resurrection, and his promise to return. Someday each of us will give an account to God regarding how seriously we took this responsibility.Outreach is more than our responsibility; it is our great privilege. We are invited to be a part of bringing people into God's eternal family. As long as there is one person in the world who does not know Christ, the church has a mandate to keep growing. Growth is not optional; it is commanded by Jesus. We should not seek church growth for our own benefit, but because God wants people saved. FellowshipThe church is to identify with the body of Christ. As Christians we're called to belong, not just to believe. We are not meant to live lone-ranger lives; instead, we are to belong to Christ's family and be members of his body. We are not alone. We have each other for support. In the Living Bible, Ephesians 2:19 says, "You are members of God's very own family... and you belong in God's household with every other Christian." The church exists to provide fellowship for believers. Bible StudyThe church exists to edify, or educate, God's people. Bible study, or discipleship, is the process of helping people become more like Christ in their thoughts, feelings, and actions. This process begins when a person is born again and continues throughout the rest of his life. As the church we are called not only to reach people, but also to teach them. After someone has made a decision for Christ, he or she must be discipled. It is the church's responsibility to develop people to spiritual maturity. This is God's will for every believer. Paul writes: " ...so that the body of Christ may be built up until we all reach unity in the faith and in the knowledge of the Son of God and become mature, attaining to the whole measure of the fullness of Christ" (Eph. 4:12b-13).

Who is God?God has a plan for each one of us. He created us for a reason. He wants to be with us and He wants each one of us to have a meaningful and abundant life here and eternal life with Him in Heaven. What does the Bible Say about this?John 10:10I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly. (New International Version)John 3:16For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. (New International Version)What happened to God’s plan? Why are there so many who don’t know Him?Even though God made us to love Him and to be with Him, He does not force us to do so. God allows us to make our own choices. The problem is that we have chosen to disobey God. This causes us to be separated from the very One who loves us the most, from the very One who made us to be with Him.What does the Bible Say about this?Romans 3:23For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.(New International Version)Romans 6:23For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.(New International Version)Jesus Christ willingly gave His life on the cross, was buried in a tomb and rose again after three days. He did this to pay the price for the sins of every man, woman, boy, and girl who lives, who has ever lived, and who will ever live. Jesus did this for us because of God’s love for us.What does the Bible Say about this?John 14:6Jesus answered, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me. (New International Version)Romans 5:8But God demonstrates His own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us. (New International Version)God provided a way for us to be with Him but everyone must make the choice!Through Jesus Christ we can know that we will live with God for eternity! Because of His mercy we no longer have to be separated from God and through His grace we can receive forgiveness for our sins. What does the Bible Say about this?Romans 10:9That if you confess with your mouth, ‘Jesus is Lord,’ and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. (New International Version)Revelation 3:20Here I am! I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in and eat with him, and he with Me. (New International Version)John 1:12Yet to all who received Him, to those who believed in His name, He gave the right to become children of God. (New International Version) God’s only Son, Jesus Christ, His life! The cost of Salvation to us? Nothing. It is a free gift offered to each of us by God the Father through His Son, Jesus Christ. Here are four easy steps to accepting this free gift of eternal life:1.Admit that you need God - “I am a sinner”2.Be willing to say you’re sorry - “I repent of my sins”3.Believe that Jesus Christ, the Son of God, paid for your sins by dying for you on the Cross and rising again on the third day - “I believe in Jesus Christ”4.Ask Jesus Christ to save you and to control your life through the power of the Holy Spirit - “I accept Jesus as my personal Lord and Savior”What is your choice? Will you pray to receive Christ and His gift of abundant and eternal life?Pray this – speak it God in your heart and mind – outloud too if you wish :“Dear Jesus, I know that because of my sin I need Your forgiveness. I believe that You died on the cross for my sins. I believe You rose again so I could live with You. I want to stop living for myself and start living for You. I want Your peace in my life. I want forgiveness for my sins. Please come into my heart and change my life. I want to live with You forever. I want You to be my Lord and Savior. In Jesus’ name. Amen.”IF YOU PRAYED THIS PRAYER TO RECEIVE CHRIST AND HIS GIFT OF SALVATION, PLEASE LET US KNOW! WE WANT TO HELP YOU AND GUIDE YOU AS YOU START YOUR NEW LIFE AS A CHILD OF GOD.

Josh was born and raised in North Carolina. At the age of 15 he surrendered his life to full time ministry. Since then he served in many areas of ministry, part time and full time. A passion for worship and music has been the focus of his ministry. In 1999 Josh began studying at Liberty University and received a Bachelor of Science degree in the field of Biblical Studies in 2006. He has been blessed with opportunities to travel and direct several music groups around the country and the world. Christian theater brought him to East Tennessee where he performed many characters in the Biblical musical, The Miracle. At this time he also served as a worship pastor in a local church. Today, along with serving at Mt Harmony, Josh is also furthering his education at Liberty in their seminary program. Something people don"t know about me: I marched in band in both high school and college. Favorite Food: a simple dish, Spaghetti Favorite movies and music: Without a doubt one of my favorite movies is "It"s a Wonderful Life." My favorite music can not be summed up in one style. I have an eclectic taste. If I could be any animal for a day I"d be: I would choose a bird because I want to know what it is like to fly

I was born in 1959 as the third child in a pastor’s home. I became a Christian at the age of 12 in an evangelistic crusade held at my home church in Florida. Since I was heavily involved in the church as a teen-- working in a bus ministry as a route captain and teaching a group of fifth grade boys in a Sunday School--it was no secret that I would continue that love into my adult years. I graduated from high school in 1977 and went to Bible college where I fully surrendered to full time ministry. Several years later on January 31, 1982, I was ordained to the gospel ministry. I received my Bachelors in Bible from Trinity College of the Bible, my MDiv from the Southern Baptist Theological Seminary, and my PhD from Trinity Theological Seminary. Before I became a pastor I served churches for over 13 years as both a music and a youth director. In 1994 I accepted a call to pastor a church in New Market, Tennessee and then in 1999 I came to Mount Harmony. I am privileged to be married to mybeautiful wife, Tracy, and together we have a wonderful daughter and son-in-law, two outstanding sons, and a sweet pooch called Lady Bug.Something most people don"t know about me: For about a year of my life I was a home delivery milk man. That"s right. I used to go from house to house and deliver milk for Pet Dairy. Favorite Food: Fried Chicken with all the fixin"s, duh! Hey, go ahead and fry anything and it will probably be my favorite.Favorite movie and music: I am going to have to go with genres here. I love action movies--the Bourne movies; westerns in general, even Rocky 1-100. I really love all kinds of Christian music but I also have a great affinity for the "70"s folk-music-stuff and when it comes to classical, I am a big fan of Mozart. If I could be any animal for a day I"d be: An eagle because I would love to be able to soar the heavens and gaze back into God"s creation at all the wonder and beauty it beholds.
